Bareknuckle Poet Anthology 2018 Best Australian Writing with award winning author Venero Armanno in the ring as short fiction editor is now open for submissions of short fiction, creative/non-fiction, essays and poetry. 2018 is Bareknuckle Poet’s third print anthology and will be published in November filling the gap left by the demise of the ‘Best Australian…’ series previously published by Black Inc. We don’t like ‘themes’ but each year we dedicate an issue to one of Bareknuckle Poet’s favourite writers to coincide with the anniversary of their most important works, or on the year they left us.
Considering the constraint of publishing a ‘Best Australian Writing’ edition this year the editorial board has concluded that we are calling for texts that are written both ‘from’ and ‘in’ this country. Submissions for this issue are restricted to the following: Australian citizens, residents of Australia, and refugees incarcerated by Australia.
For possible inclusion for 2018 work must be contributed to and published by Bareknuckle Poet online between the dates of March 21st & September 1st 2018.
*Note ~ Submissions here to the print Anthology that are accepted will be first published online to fulfil Bareknuckle Poet's open access policy. Submissions published online will be considered for the print anthology. Your work published online is considered the 'longlist' and is no guarantee that your work will appear in the print anthology. Submissions in this category will appear labelled online as *LONGLIST: Bareknuckle Poet Anthology 2018 Best Australian Writing*. Submissions to this category close September 1st, 2018 and our guest editors will select 'the best' . In early November we will publish a list of the authors/works that will appear in the print anthology.
